• DUAL ENROLLMENT OPPORTUNITIES

    Fairleigh Dickinson University

    Passaic Valley has an agreement with Fairleigh Dickinson University called the Middle College Program that allows students to earn college credits for classes taken in high school. The following courses are included in the Middle College Program:

    English III Honors

    Spanish IV Honors

    Anatomy & Physiology

    English IV Honors

    French IV Honors

    Honors

    US History II Honors

    Italian IV Honors

    IBPF

    Participation in this program allows students to use the facilities at Fairleigh Dickinson University and credits are transferable to hundreds of colleges nationwide. Students must achieve a “C” or better to receive credit and there is a fee for participation. This year’s cost was approximately $239 per course.

    Kean University

    Kean University allows Passaic Valley students to receive three (3) college credits for the Holocaust, Genocide, and Modern Humanity course offered at PV. These credits are contingent upon successful completion of the course with a “C” or better and are transferable to additional colleges and universities. There is also a fee of $300 per course, collected by Kean University of participation. Due to the rigor of this course, students will receive honors weighting.

    Montclair State University

    New this year, Passaic Valley is offering a Communication Arts and Media course in conjunction with Montclair State University. This course will be offered to eligible junior and senior students who have maintained a B average throughout high school and shown a strong work ethic. Students enrolled in this introductory college course can earn three (3) college credits for successful completion. As with other dual enrollment programs, there is a minimum grade requirement of a “C” or better and fee of $480 per course, payable to MSU.

    University TBD- Spring 2019

    New this year, Passaic Valley is offering a college level Engineering course in conjunction with a New Jersey University. Students enrolled in this introductory college course can earn three (3) college credits for successful completion. As with other dual enrollment programs, there is a minimum grade requirement of a “C” or better and fee, payable to the University.

    Passaic County Community College (PCCC)

    We are offering four (4) one semester courses in a Criminal Justice pathway in association with PCCC. Students will be able to earn up to 12 college credits when enrolled in the following courses. As with other dual enrollment programs, there is a grade requirement of a “C” or better and a fee of $105 per course, payable to PCCC.
