Dear Parents, Guardians and Community Members,
We are planning for another exciting school year to begin on September 4, 2019. This year Passaic Valley Regional High School will celebrate seventy nine years of educating the students of Little Falls, Totowa, and Woodland Park. The freshman class of 2023 will be visiting our campus during the last week of August to become familiar with their classrooms, lockers, and also meeting staff that will guide them in the next four years. The fall season brings a great beginning to our school year with our new three-year Strategic Plan being unveiled to the community, our new course offerings, and the start up of sports and activities for our students. There is something for everyone to get involved in at Passaic Valley.
I encourage all of our students to explore joining our clubs and participating in our school events. We are increasing our presence in the academic competition arena and we are actively seeking partnerships with local businesses that will provide structured learning experiences for students to have real world life experiences in industries and careers they are interested in. High School education programs on the national, state, and local level are quickly evolving to meet the needs of the workforce of tomorrow and we are working to assure we are at the forefront of that movement in our program development.
I also urge you to visit our website often to learn what is going on at PV throughout the year. Our traditional newspaper the Valley Echo is in its third year of an online format. Our students write about a plethora of topics and report on all things that are PV related, they do a wonderful job delivering the news of our school across various platforms. PVTV is also debuting as a new Career and Technical Education program. The broadcasting courses have been revised, and we have a partnership with both Bergen Community College and Montclair State University that offers our students dual enrollment college credit.
Passaic Valley is also in the planning stages of creating an Architectural Engineering CTE Pathway to complement our STEM/ STEAM program offering students time to be creative through the blending of science, math, art and technology learning opportunities.
