Dear Parents, Guardians and Community Members,
Welcome to the 18-19 school year at Passaic Valley Regional High School. This year promises to be an exciting blend of new and traditional programming and coursework. Our new district mission is “ to assure today’s educational programming is relevant to tomorrow’s college and career employment expectations". The school faculty and administration is dedicated to providing every student with the necessary supports to make this happen. The world beyond high school offers multiple pathways to successful adulthood, and our goal is to assure our students understand what possibilities await them. Now more than ever the careers of the future are not yet defined, therefore focusing on critical thinking skills, creativity and innovation are a must, and no longer a luxury. Perseverance and collaboration are also important in all areas of high school academics, athletics and activities.
Parents, I hope that you too find your niche at PV and participate in the many events and activities that are planned. Our school calendar, and our athletic calendar can be found on this website and we are asking that every parent sign up for our School APP. As we continue to move to a paperless environment, more and more information will be posted through our social media outlets and you can access them through our website. Be sure we have the most updated information for our voicemail messages to be sent directly to you. We use this system for emergencies and for quick messages on important topics you need to be aware of.
We warmly welcome the Class of 2022 to our school family. It is a wonderful time to be enrolled in our school as our new STEM program offerings debut this year. New courses are also offered in our Humanities Criminal Justice Program, and PVTV is taking on new challenges for programming and communicating within our community in the 21st century.
During this school year we are planning to further focus on developing and securing internships and student learning experiences that can enhance our rigorous coursework by building relationships with businesses and government entities in our three communities and in our Passaic County region.
As I begin my third year serving as Superintendent of Passaic Valley Regional High School, I assure you the Board of Education and myself are totally vested in your children and our entire school community. It is wonderful to hear from many of you regarding positive feedback, and also to hear your ideas about making our district the best it can be.
I sincerely thank you for your continued support of my leadership as we realize our vision of having “all students prepared to meet the challenges of post secondary life with grace and confidence”.
