Class of 2021 Celebrates Cotillion at The Grand
9 March 2020
On March 6th, Passaic Valley held its Junior Cotillion at The Grand in Totowa. Class advisers Mrs. Jamie Picarelli and Mr. Kevin Haimowitz planned the amazing night and Mr. Alfred Cappello attended as the photographer.
Both advisors, along with the 2021 class officers, planned diligently to make the night as great as possible for the students. Planning began almost nine months ago, as advisors and officers considered everything from the venue to the centerpieces. “I love planning events for school! My favorite part about planning a school dance is that I know just how special this night is for all of the students,” explained Mrs. Picarelli. “So to be a part of ensuring they all have a special night is something that means a lot to me.”
Juniors definitely appreciated all of the hard work put into the night. “My favorite part of the Cotillion was dancing with my friends and seeing everyone all dressed up. It was all very cool because we only experience these kinds of things a few times in our lifetime,” said Teresa Payne. “Events like this really help our grade come together because we all dance and have fun as a whole. Everyone is there to have fun and enjoy the night that our advisors made possible for us”.
Overall, it’s easy to say the night was a success. The students had an amazing time and can now look back on the Cotillion as a great memory. Mrs. Picarelli explained that the Cotillion couldn’t have turned out any better: “At one point, Mr. Haimowitz and I looked around the room and everyone was on the dance floor, which is exactly what we wanted to see.”
