Summer 2019 Sports Camps Open for Registration

Photo from PV Sports; photo courtesy of Mr. Joe Benvenuti Each year, PV offers its Summer Sports Camps for local students from grades 3-8. The camps give students the opportunity to try out a sport and reinforce their skills and abilities.

The sports camps offered this summer are Boys Basketball, Softball, Boys Volleyball, Baseball, Boys Soccer, Girls Basketball, Track and Field, Girls Volleyball, and Gymnastics.

Week one of PV’s Summer Sports Camps consists of Boys Basketball and Softball. Boys Basketball will take place on June 27th and 28th from 9AM to 12PM. Mr. James Holsworth will be the coach guiding students. A $50 payment is required for this sports camp. Softball will take place from June 26th through June 28th from 9AM to 12PM. Ms. Kathy Hill is the coach for this camp, which will cost $75.

Week two is Boys Volleyball and Baseball, both taking place from July 8th to 11th from 9AM to 12PM, with each costing $100. Mr. Dariusz Libucha is in charge of Boys Volleyball, while Mr. John Mazzo is in charge of Baseball.

Week three will hold Boys Soccer, Girls Basketball, and Track and Field. Mr. Michael Couden will be coaching Boys Soccer, with Mr. Marc Salvatore leading Girls Basketball, and Mr. Joel Thornton guiding students in Track and Field.

Week four consists of only Boys Basketball, from July 22nd to July 25th, at 9AM to 3PM.

Week five is Girls Volleyball, taking place from August 5th to August 8th at 9AM to 12PM. The coach of Girls Volleyball is Mr. William Robertazzi. This camp will cost $100.

Week six, the last week of PV’s Summer Sports Camps, will be Gymnastics, taking place from August 19th through 22nd, from 9AM to 12PM. Ms. Jenai Agosta will be coaching this sports camp, which costs $100.

Registration has already opened for the summer of 2019. Forms and payment are due to Passaic Valley High School on Friday, June 21st. Checks should be made payable to “Passaic Valley High School”. The flyer and forms can be found at the PV "Summer Camps" tab on the PV website.

Athletic Director Mr. Joe Benvenuti emphasizes the importance of PV’s Summer Sports Camps. “I think PV’s sports camps are very important because they’re the olive branch to the community and to our youth athletes,” he expressed. “Leadership is all about building relationships, and what better way to Photo from PV Sports; photo courtesy of Mr. Joe Benvenuti start building those relationships with your future athletes than by having them at your camp and getting to know them better.”
