PV Takes Home Best Play and Best Musical at STANJ 2020

Student performers with STANJ trophy; photo credit: Ms. Shue On January 11, 2020, students and teachers participated in the Speech and Theater Association of New Jersey (STANJ) competition at Montclair State University. Throughout the night, Passaic Valley took home Best Play and Best Musical awards.

Ms. Vanderstreet, Dr. Cardillo, and Ms. Shue with STANJ trophies; property of Ms. Shue Ms. Caren Atamian, Ms. Pia Vanderstreet, and Ms. Jennifer Shue guided students victories for Best Play with Lend Me a Tenor, Best Musical with The Addams Family, and a sixth place finish in Musical Pairs with Mia Preziosi and Christopher Perez. Hatem Haddouche, Rachelle Irizarry, Mark Huggins, Mallory Cestone, Yasmin Hajbi, Camryn Frey, Alexandra Paese, and Jeremy Irizarry also participated in the competition and represented Passaic Valley's talent. 

The Theater Department has been competing in STANJ since 2016 and continues to be a highlight for students.

"The production staff and the students really enjoyed working on this production," said Ms. Shue, Director of The Addams Family. "We are so happy the students were rewarded for their hard work."
